Adoption and life
I was adopted at birth.
For many years I felt empty
even though I loved
my family very much.
But now I have the best of
both worlds, and I have two
wonderful sisters, one I
was raised with, and
my birth sister,
as well as a brother I
was raised with too.
I've learned in these past
few days that I'm
1/4 Choctaw Indian, and
after not knowing for so many
years where I came from,
this means so much to me.
I have heritage and
something I can be proud of
within myself.
I'm a lucky lady, married to
my best friend of 28 years now.

I remember the stories told,
Of how you loved me so,
How you ran down the street chasing after,
The car that delivered me home.
I remember looking up at you,
And thinking how awesome you were,
For I don't remember a day that passed,
When your love for me wasnt sure.
I remember sledding at Eskimo Hill,
And that tree at the bottom stood still,
Waiting for you and your friends to hit it,
Broken arm, broken sled, and yet thrilled.
I remember lunch in the 7th Grade,
Where on your Harley you did show,
Up to the school to steal me away,
And oh, how the wind did blow. :)
I remember when you were but Twentyone,
You almost lost your life,
Lying there in that bed all broken up,
And I didn't want to leave your side.
I thought I might lose you forever then,
And kneeled to my knees and prayed,
That you would be in my life a long time,
That forever you'd have stayed.
I remember the day you married,
You stood up so proud and strong,
In the park with all your loved ones,
With me playing all the songs.
I remember when you had your son,
And what a Beautiful baby was he,
I'll never forget the look in your eye,
Not a more perfect moment would I see.
I remember the day that you met Mark,
How with skeptical eye you did look,
Then pulled him aside and talked with him,
Giving your Blessing and a brother you took.
I remember you playing with Brittany,
How shed chase you down the halls,
She looked at you like youd hung the moon,
Yelling Uncle Randy, smiling youd stand up tall.
I remember the day I got the call,
All the guilt that I did feel,
For deep in the night was a feeling,
That someone very close was ill.
Ill never forget the pain that I felt,
Like I was twisted inside out,
I never thought that I could go on,
But you had taught me what life was about.
I remember wanting to call you,
Yet realizing you weren't there,
The overwhelming pain that swept through my soul,
I just stood crying because lifes so unfair.
There isn't a day that passes that,
You're not in my heart and thought,
When we don't wish we could bring you here,
To once more feel the love you taught.
You were always the wind beneath my wings...

feet, Be a friend unto the friendless, make an empty life complete.
The unkind things I do today, may never be undone, And friendships that I fail to win, may nevermore be won. I may not have another chance, on bended knees to
pray, and I thank My Higher Power, for giving me this Day.
